Bandon - Seals and sea lions galore

Drove down highway 101 following the coast from Yachats to Bandon. The scenery was fantastic with the golden coast just continuing for miles. On of our first stops we got a great picture of some seals just basking in the sunshine on a rock. We clambered over some rocks to get a closer look, there were also lots of starfish. We stopped at one or two of the lighthouses that are very popular along the route. We also finally managed to get our barbecue after finding a picnic spot by the lighthouse. Although there was a special spot for lighting fires we were getting some dirty looks as we tucked in. It appears that at this time of the year there are special rules in place and you can't just have barbecues on the beach without getting a permit! Tasted great though.

Stopped off at Sea Lion cave as well, where we saw loads more basking Sea Lions although we could not get anywhere near as close as we had earlier and so didn't take many photos of them. Next we headed down to Sea Lion caves one of the biggest underground caves in the world. It was truly huge but filled with Sea Lions barking and roaring at each other. It was a lovely hot day, saw on the weather map that Las Vegas is predicted to be 100-120 degrees when we get there, (thats over 50 degrees C). Hoping it won't be quite that extreme when we get there!
