Mendocino - More cliffs, waves, caves and beaches

Another hot day, we are staying in Fort Bragg for another evening but drove the small distance down to Mendocino to check out the headland trails and the very chilled out small town. It certainly was one of the most attractive small towns we have seen so far, old-fashioned looking but not touristy and tacky (like Skagway in Alaska). Saw some very large waves on the beaches and cliffs of Mendocino but without something for scale it is difficult to see from pictures just how large, and loud, the waves are. The fact no-one is crazy enough to get in the water says it all. We also took a walk along Glass Beach, so called because of all the sea-polished glass that washes up on the shore. Of course, it is so popular with jewellery-makers and tourists that we barely saw any of the highly polished and brightly coloured glass anywhere!
