Lake Taupo - Flying down the hill

We had a lovely couple of days in Lake Taupo, which like many of the lakes here is actually an old volcano cone that has filled with water. We took a gondola ride to the highest point to get some great views of the lake and surrounding countryside. There was also a luge track, basically you ride on a cart that is very close to the ground on a racetrack down the side of the hill, and then catch a chairlift back up to the top. It was awesome fun and really well organised as everything seems to be over here.
