Carrying on a recent theme we visisted some more geothermal fields. It is quite eerie looking at the steam just rising out of the ground accompanied by bubbling and some of the most awful smells. The first place we visited had it all: a ferry to get to the field across a warm river, waterfalls, geysers, fumeroles, boiling mud pools and even a cave. The cave is unusual in this type of area and had extremely clear water in (you could use the water to clean jewellery). Anyway we ventured down the stairs into the cave, and even after the warning about how clear the water is, Vicky still walked straight in up to her shins without even seeing it.... Also it was so warm that for the first few seconds she couldn't even tell her jeans and shoes were soaking...On the picture the brown patch in front of her that looks like muddy rocks is actually under about a foot of water.
