Picton - South Island

The ferry was delayed but it was a suprise that it wasn't cancelled with the very strong winds, fog and rain, it certainly made for an interesting three hours on the ferry. The North and South Islands are actually only about 20km apart at the closest points but the ferry goes across the Cook Straight and through the picturesque Marlborough Sounds before reachiong Picton. We actually stayed in the cinema for most of the journey watching Die Hard 4. Felt like an aircraft simulator sitting in the dark with the ship pitching around. Hoping for some good weather!
